I Kissed a Girl – Katy Perry

The edgy and not-so-normal are words to describe this very talented woman. Katy Perry, as most fans would call her, shot into stardom with her carrier single “I Kiss a Girl” which was used in an episode of a famous TV series.
Opposed to the title and claim of the song, Perry was born and raised into a Christian family. Having pastors as her parents, her talent was first heard at their church. Christian songs were her only influence during her teens as she was also prohibited by her parents to listen to contemporary or modern music as they called it ‘secular music.’ However, the talent she had ultimately brought her to a different side of music. Something she was not used to. Something fresh.
Thanks to a slumber party she went to, she heard a different kind of music. Queen became one of her influences that apparently showed with her current tracks. However, her first album did not manifest the hip and up-beat music because it consisted of Christian songs. Fame follows talent, and talent was one thing this girl definitely has.
A few meet ups with other people and she finally got the chance to release her own song and album. Backed up by her Christian influence and her own unique taste for music, the songs she makes are definitely one of a kind and can definitely put you on your feet. Her light, sweet yet edgy beat accompanied by creative and colorful sets puts this young singer’s songs on the top.
A new influence that would definitely be reflected in probably one of her new works would be her marriage with Brit comedian Russell Brand. This rather odd yet perfect couple can put a brand new and hipper sound to Katy’s future songs.
