Pop music has always got a bad rep for a lot of reasons. The thing here is that so many elitists do not enjoy having their favorite genres changed into a more mainstream feel. If you enjoy good pop, why don’t you try something a little different in terms of pop music? There are so many different types that you might enjoy even beyond just what they show on television. Alternate pop is such a great variation and you might find that if you look through different pop styles, you’ll love the others more than the first that you found.

One such band that you might be interested in is Splender. They’re pretty alternative for such a band. Usually, people will pin them as melodic rock band, however, their lyrical styles and rhythmic sections are too catchy to resist. One of the best songs that they have is “Maybe someday”. It’s the lyrics that really hit home with this song. It’s so very simply written but there is a sort of beautiful poetry to it. It goes deeply into the meaning of friendship from a person who asks too much. It’s rare you would get so much symbolism out of a simple song.

A nice little oldie from the 2000’s is the song life is free by Arkarna. This band is different in that they use a wholly mixed up type of genre for music. While they are mostly reggae, they also add a smooth little medley of sweet singing. Their lyrics can be quite simplistic though. While they do sing about simpler ideas and their lyrics never go so much deeper than the meaning of a simple life. While these kinds of songs are a little overplayed, it’s the means by which they play the song. It’s so bouncy, but very pretty and simply melodic.
